Can existing lenses be adapted to the ALPA?
Indeed they can – as long as such lenses are listed in our latest product list. Such lenses can be adapted to the ALPA exclusively by Schneider-Kreuznach or Linos/Rodenstock. They check the lens, mount it on the ALPA lensboard, calibrate it on a collimator and equip it to ALPA standards (which includes the unique ALPA shutterblade interlock and the exchangeable shutter release button). By the way: all lenses for the ALPA with a focal length of 120 mm or more made by Schneider-Kreuznach feature special helical-mounts that allow exceptionally short close-up focusing. For example, the Apo-Symmar 120 mm L and the Apo-Digitar 120 mm N which can be focused down to 1.2 m, or the Apo-Symmar 180 mm L and the Apo-Digitar 180 mm T with 2.2 m minimal focusing distance.
